BOSCO'S #VOLTERREVOYAGE TO SAVANNAH

We're thrilled to have paired with BOSCO, a need-to-know R&B/dance/indie artist with a knack for fashion, to see where she takes her Gold Uluwatus when visiting her hometown. BOSCO attributes Savannah and the South's culture to influencing her music, her down-to-earth nature and strong moral values - and we're all about that. Check out her fav spots below.

Zunzis

Zunzis is a South African infused, hole in the wall sandwich shop with a classic hometown-Southerny vibe. Don't let the (potentially) long lines deter you - it's a local favorite and well worth the wait. According to one particularly eloquent Yelper, "you're batsh*t crazy if you don't get The Godfather."

Carey Hilliard's

Basically everything is either fried or seafood - no complaints about that. Carey Hilliards gives a portion of its expense budget each year to worthy organizations including CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children), Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, March of Dimes for babies. Food with purpose!

Vic's on The River

A very cool historic atmosphere with great food (especially the award winning shrimp and grits). On one of the walls is a hand drawn map by union soldiers that was used for strategic planning during the Civil War.

"Being that I'm from Savannah, I think now that I'm older I can appreciate it coming from a different perspective.  It's charming yet mystical, very rich in culture & tradition, and values historic preservation"

Broughton Street

Broughton Street is the place to go for any serious shopper (or normal people). Thrift shops galore, Savannah classics, and big retailers (think Free People, Urban Outfitters, H&M...)

River Street

Following along the Savannah, River Street is considered the heart of historic Savannah. Constructed 200 years ago as cotton warehouses, the buildings underwent a massive renovation in the 1970's have been converted to antique shops,  boutiques, galleries, pubs, and restaurants.

Forsyth Park

At the center of Savannah’s historic district lies Forsyth Park, a must see when visiting. Bring your dogs, kids, whatever, and enjoy a nice picnic or afternoon stroll. That’s sort of all there is to say about a park, but see the famous picturesque fountain!

Tybee Beach

Simply a gorgeous beach with a very picturesque dock, close to Savannah!

The Squares Downtown

Check this out on a map — amid surrounding inns, historic homes, churches, and museums, lie 22 squares on a nearly perfect grid. Each square has its own unique ambiance and history, but they’re all adorned with greenery and big oak trees.

City Market

City Market is a little on the touristy end, but definitely still a great visit packed with historical value. It's survived and thrived after two fires, a civil war, and a great hurricane, remaining the heart of Savannah through it all. Nicknamed the "Art and Soul of Savannah," there are tons of eye catching shops, art galleries, cute bistros, and live music, all with an old school feel. You can turn your venture to City Market into a day by taking a short walk to River Street afterwards.
